My name is Ömer. I was born into leather — not by choice, but by blood.
My grandfather owned one of Istanbul’s old leather tanneries, where the air carried the scent of craftsmanship and time. My father followed the path, becoming a leather jacket manufacturer whose workshop quietly produced high-end pieces for luxury brands. The work was never about volume — it was about pride, precision, and quality. In our family, a leather jacket wasn’t fashion — it was a birthright.
Still, I chose a different path. I studied Information Technologies at university and spent five years in the tech industry. But the sound of needles tapping leather and the feel of worn hide on my shoulders never truly left me.
As the world moved on, the leather craft didn’t just fade — it was nearly forgotten. True artisans disappeared, replaced by mass-produced imitations made from petroleum-based synthetics. These "jackets" were cheaper, yes — but also disposable, toxic, and soulless. Real leather, on the other hand, is sustainable, durable, and timeless. It deserved a comeback — not as a relic, but as a rebellion.
